The Lake Superior Basin Workshop is scheduled for Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. The event usually runs from about noon to 4 pm on Friday and 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday. The workshop is traditionally a rather informal gathering of archaeologists and avocational archaeologists with lots of discussion about the projects and findings that the participants are working on. Generally archaeologists bring artifacts and other materials to display while looking for comments from their colleagues. Events currently scheduled include a display of Lakehead University’s lithic comparative collection. (Lithic exchange is welcome.) There will also be a Paleo-Indian Session in honor of Tony Romano with artifacts from various paleoindian sites from the area. Friday evening will be the monthly Ontario Archaeological Society meeting with a presentation entitled “Placing the Trihedral Adze: A Case Study for the Use of Multi-Analytical Residue Analysis in Northwestern Ontario” by Russell Cook. Here is a link to a flyer and map for the event.
